10×8 | 2017 | Poster
This project is a conceptual gig poster for a bluegrass/folk band from North Carolina called Mandolin Orange. I created this conceptual poster for a bluegrass festival featuring this particular band. Since I wanted to represent the feeling of their music, I chose to do a digital painting of a sunset in the mountains.
I really felt like this image fit their aesthetic, and I just loved that it was a painting of the region they’re from. For the painting, I used a paper texture to give it a the vintage feel. I also used a watercolor brush and hand-drawn typography to really to accent the illustrative look I had in mind.
